RTI filed by Saurav Das on behalf of The Logical Indian reveals that Centre’s Rs 15,000 Crore COVID-19 Package announced in April 2020 was entirely financed through international loans, with experts calling it “absolutely unnecessary, a currency risk” and that it “significantly adds to repayment costs”. PM-CARES and even the Centre could have easily funded this package.
